CURRENTLY LICENSED SALESPERSON - Salesperson to Broker Transition
- Real Estate Salesperson Licensees MUST transition their license to a Broker's License by April 30, 2012
- Licensees that do NOT complete and file their application for the transition by April 30th 2012 will lose their Real Estate License.
- Real Estate Salesperson licensees that wish to obtain a Broker's license AFTER April 30, 2012 will be REQUIRED to complete 90 hours of Pre-Licensing courses, which 15 hours MUST be interactive / classroom, PLUS PASS the STATE exam administered by AMP, the state's testing vendor.
- You MUST obtain a broker's license if you would like to continue to sell or lease real estate
after April 30, 2012.
HOW?
- 1 - Complete an approved 30 hr transition course and pass a 50 question multiple choice School
Administered test with a 75% passing score.
- Offered as Self Study or Classroom
- Immediate Results.
- Retakes are available.
- NO CE is REQUIRED when completing the Transition Course for "Salesperson to Broker"
Transition.
- After successfully passing the Transition Course the Licensee will be issued a "Transition Transcript".
- The licensee MUST send the Transition Transcript along with the License Transition and Renewal form to the IDFPR prior to APRIL 30, 2012.

- 9 hrs - Elective
- Licensees failing the Proficiency Exam are required to take and pass the 30 hour Transition course prior to April 30, 2012 and apply for the license.

CURRENTLY LICENSED BROKER – BROKER WISHING TO REMAIN A BROKER
If you currently hold a broker's license, and you wish not to pursue the managing broker category you are REQUIRED TO COMPLETE 12 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION BY APRIL 30, 2012.

NOTE:
- By electing to remain a broker rather than transitioning to a managing broker at this time you acknowledge that should you desire to acquire the managing broker license in the future, you will be required to complete the new 45 hour pre-license course for the managing broker and retake the state simulation exam. You will NOT be able to hold your own license and/or manage a real estate office.

CURRENTLY LICENSED BROKER - Broker to Managing Broker Transition
- Currently licensed Brokers that supervise other licensees or are "Self-Sponsored" are required to transition to the new "Managing Broker" license.
- Brokers remaining a broker and NOT Transitioning their license by April 30, 2012 will be REQUIRED to have their Broker's license sponsored by a Managing Broker
- To obtain a Managing Broker's License after April 30, 2012 you will be REQUIRED to complete a 45 hours of Pre-Licensing Course, which 15 hours MUST be interactive / classroom, PLUS PASS the STATE exam administered by AMP, the state's testing vendor.
- You MUST obtain a Managing Broker's license if you would like to continue to have the ability to Manage licensees, Sponsor licensees or Sponsor your own license.

BROKERS RECEIVING THEIR LICENSE AFTER MAY 1, 2011
(DID NOT PREVIOUSLY HOLD A SALESPERSON'S LICENSE)
- Brokers licensed after April 30, 2011 are required to complete a 30 hr state post-license requirement prior to their first renewal.
- 15 hr Post Licensing Self-Study Course
- 15 Credit Hours of Interactive Classroom Applied Real Estate Practices.
- This is Required to be completed prior to the renewal of April 30,2012

PLEASE NOTE:
Brokers may ONLY transition their license ONCE from Salesperson to Broker
They CANNOT transition again to a Managing Broker's license.
- A Broker that obtained their license by the transition process must complete the 45 hr
Managing Broker Courses and PASS the STATE exam administered by AMP, the state's
testing vendor.
- A broker wishing to obtain a Managing Broker's license MUST have held their salesperson and/or Broker's licenses for two out of the last three years.
