Nebraska Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing Education Hours
  • 24hrs biennially (including 3hrs of Ethics)
  • 6hrs biennially (including 3hrs of Ethics) - Crop Only Producers

    Ethics Requirement:
  • 3hrs Ethics per renewal period
    Flood Insurance Requirements
  • Producers who sell flood insurance under the NFIP must complete a one-time 3hr credit course related to the NFIP
    Long Term Care Partnership Requirements:
  • Initial 8-hr training program.
    4-hour course every 24 months after initial training.

  • Same as license renewal date
License Renewal Date
  • Every 2 years on the last day of the producer’s birth month in odd- or even-numbered years.
    Producers born in an even-numbered year must complete their CE in even-numbered years.
    Producers born in an odd-numbered year must complete their CE in odd-numbered years.

  • Self-study (book format)
  • Online
Carryover of Continuing Education Hours.
  • None allowed
Course Repetition
  • Courses may not be repeated within a 2 year period.
Proctor/ Monitor Requirements For Final Exam
  • Exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party.
    A disinterested third party is an individual with no family or financial relationship to the student.
Exemptions
  • Individuals who hold a limited-lines license for credit life/credit accident and health, auto mechanical breakdown, prepaid legal, motor club, prepaid dental, health maintenance organization, or unemployment credit insurance
  • Nonresidents who are in good standing with his or her home state
Certificates Of Completion
  • Your certificate of completion will be mailed to you once you have completed your exam.
Reporting Of Continuing Education Hours
  • The course provider reports credits earned to the insurance department or its designated agency.
